 A ircraft accidents are on the rise, especially in South Sudan. While the exact cause of the accidents is yet to be published, it is a growing concern to all. The South Sudanese Civil Aviation Authority should come up with measures/regulations to ensure air transport safety within its airspace. These must include but not limited to personnel (inspectors training, personnel licencing (engineers, pilots, air traffic controllers and other aviation-related support staff). Notably, most of the aircraft's involved in the accidents are old and as such require thorough maintenance in order to be airworthy. it is the responsibility of the CAA to ensure CRS's (Certificate of Release to Service ) are issued only after thorough inspection by the CAA Inspectors. Accident investigations must also be made public in order for the industry players to learn on the weaknesses and come up with concrete steps of improving safety. in this regard, it is the responsibility of the government through t

  Blindness is a serious public health problem in ikwoto county and isoke eastern Equatoria, south Sudan, areas where almost access to good medical facilities is out of reach, yet there is an urgent need to implement comprehensive blindness prevention programs. Further surveys are essential to confirm these tragic findings and estimate the prevalence of blindness and low vision in the entire region of South Sudan,  there’s already a certain statistic of cataract victims in different parts of South Sudan. My recent visit to a small town I call home where cases of cataracts reported leaving at least number of locals blinds is alarming and needs urgent governmental,  medical humanitarian organization supports.
