South Sudan Cataract, ikotos-isohe
Blindness is a serious public health problem in ikwoto county and isoke eastern Equatoria, south Sudan, areas where almost access to good medical facilities is out of reach, yet there is an urgent need to implement comprehensive blindness prevention programs. Further surveys are essential to confirm these tragic findings and estimate the prevalence of blindness and low vision in the entire region of South Sudan, there’s already a certain statistic of cataract victims in different parts of South Sudan. My recent visit to a small town I call home where cases of cataracts reported leaving at least number of locals blinds is alarming and needs urgent governmental, medical humanitarian organization supports. Below photos were taken during my recent visits along with a group of missionaries youth within the area who volunteered to nurture and provides medical facilities to the victims with the assistance from a goodwill individual a Catholic priest name ‘John from the United States, New York Manhattan, helping these victims will mean setting them free to strive and continue providing for their families in their respectful homes, I'm currently working on a project about cataract, if you want to be a part of this initiative, or wants to contribute any essential, you can email imoyadaniella@gmail.com
